Kirby Star Allies is a super fun and adorable game that any fan of Kirby will easily enjoy! If you have friends to play with, this game really shines!

Kirby Star Allies Review_ 5 Things I LOVE (& Dislike) _ Is Kirby Worth It_.00_00_22_05.Still003-min.jpg

Hey guys! It’s Ray back here and welcome to another blog post! Thanks to Nintendo, today I am super hyped to finally share with you guys my review for Kirby Star Allies! Get hyped! I LOVE KIRBY!!!

So actually going to be doing this review a little differently then the others - I’m going to be trying something new today with 5 things I LOVE (and dislike) about Kirby Star Allies! Each love and hate point is worth 20 points with a total score of 100 possible. So without further ado, let’s get right into this!

Coach Co-Op Multiplayer (+20 Love Points)

Alright so we’re starting things off with BIG love points going to Star Allies bringing back coach co-op multiplayer! This is an area where Nintendo always does best, bringing that local multiplayer for players to play together and it really shines here in Star Allies! This game is easily playable with a Joy-Con and if you have four of them - you can play with four players at once. It’s incredibly chaotic, it’s incredibly fun and wacky - it’s typical Nintendo at it’s best and if you enjoy playing with friends, you’re going to love this!

The Friend System (+20 Love Points)

In the next category, we have another set of love points going out to the friend system! When I first saw Star Allies, I am not going to lie, I was a little hesitant as to why Nintendo would add so much chaos at once into a Kirby game…it almost reminds of the Subspace World’s in Super Smash Bros Brawl for some reason, but after playing through the game, it really starts to make sense. Your friends aren’t just there to knock out enemies, they are there to help you through the levels as well. You can mix and match power ups, swap out friends for new friends and even form Friend Bridges and Friend Circles! I’m just waiting on getting caught in the friend zone! These guys are ride or die for you because they literally follow you EVERYWHERE! Even if you fall off the edge, they’ll follow you down…it’s great! Can we also appreciate King Dedede’s reactions to things!? They are HILARIOUS!

Those Classic Vibes (+20 Love Points)

You guys know by now that I absolutely love Kirby games, right? There’s just something unique about that has always had me hooked - especially Kirby 64 and the Crystal Shards. I could go on and on about that one. But the reason why I say “Classic Vibes” about Star Allies is that it genuinely gives off classic vibes from previous games. I mean some levels have music from Kirby on the NES, remixed themes from Kirby 64 and so on. Not to mention, there's a whole lot of familiar faces in the enemies - many of whom you can now call your friend. Star Allies takes an "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" take with lots of classic Kirby references - I love it!

The Beautiful Graphics (+20 Love Points)

In the second to last category, I’m sending out yet another set of love points to the graphics in this game! Seriously guys, the visuals in Star Allies are absolutely beautiful! Whether you’re playing in handheld or on the big screen, Kirby looks absolutely stunning either way. I’m always shocked by the output of the image from the Switch - this little handheld continues to impress. I mean just look at these cut scenes though! Absolutely amazing.

Needs More Content/Mini Games (+0 Love Points)

And finally, fifth and final category…sadly has to be a dislike..we're breaking the streak here! While Star Allies is an incredibly fun game with friends, it is a little lonesome when you’re playing by yourself. Granted it is still fun and does work well with the CPU - it just doesn’t quite feel the same. You know the saying how “everything is better with friends”, well that’s the case outside of the game. I also wish that there was more content in the game like mini games or something extra. After my addiction with Battle Royale on the 3DS, I really think we could have seen some few things along those lines added here. It would have been perfect!

Overall, Kirby Star Allies is a super fun and adorable game that any fan of Kirby will easily enjoy! If you have friends you play with, this game really shines. Tallying up the score, I easily give it an 80 out of 100 or 8 out of 10. Kirby’s debut on Switch looks as great as it plays.

Luckily, If you’re not sure you want to buy the game, there is a demo available on the Nintendo eShop for you to check out.

BEST Nintendo Switch Travel Bag? | CommuterPak by Funk St. EDC Review

You can wear it as a sling bag, wear it as a satchel or wear it around the waist…it’s the handy, dandy CommuterPak from Funk St. Outfitters! It weighs less than one pound and is the perfect companion for the Nintendo Switch!

Now I know you’re probably thinking to yourself, “Ray, why are you sharing a bag with us!?”. Well guys, this bag is a little different then others that are out there on the market.

The CommuterPak here is a fantastic multipurpose tech bag, that is not only perfect for carrying around the Switch but also other gadgets like iPads and tablets. Believe it or not, you can fit a whole lot of stuff in this little bag. Like since my camera (Sony a6500) is pretty thin, I can easily fit that along with my Switch and controller grip in the bag with no issue. There's a lot of different scenarios where you can take advantage of this bag whether it's for tech stuff or hiking or traveling. It's really a great all rounder!

What I really like about this bag the most though is how minimalistic it is. Rather then paying for a name brand label, the crew at Funk St. decided to put all of their time and effort into making this a premium product at a low price point compared to the competition and it definitely shows in the CommuterPak.

The outside of the bag features a sleek black design made of a very smooth nylon honeycomb ripstop, a magnetic buckle to close it up and just overall has that aesthetic, stealthy vibe to it. From using this bag over the past few days in my daily routine, I can easily say that you’re going to have to do something drastic to do some damage to it. This little guy is tough.

On the inside of the pack, there’s a bunch of compartments to store essentials including a padded microfiber sleeve. Here you can safely store your Switch, iPad or tablet. I have a 10.5 inch iPad Pro and it fits like a glove in here - anything bigger like the 12.9 inch iPad Pro will definitely be too big. But there’s also some other pockets in there as well where you can fit other daily essentials.

My top favorite feature hands down about this bag is the automatic magnetic lock on the front. It’s incredibly easy to just pull it off, open the bag and snap it back together. It’s certainly no slouch either because you can really feel how strong this thing is when it clicks together…goodness.

Although the CommuterPak isn’t exactly branded specifically as a Switch bag…it is heavily featured in it’s promos. The bag is absolutely perfect for storing the system and bunch of its accessories like the controller grip, extra Joy-Con and accessories like that. As mentioned before, this pack is very minimalistic and simple, which is something I am really drawn to in products. The design of this thing is really good, it’s really well made and not to mention you get a lifetime warranty with it…you can’t go wrong with that!

The CommuterPak is going to retail for $90 when it releases but right now, you’re able to get it for just about $60 by backing it on Kickstarter with free shipping! Compared to other bags in this category, this one is super affordable! The bag already reached it’s funding goal three times over in less than a week…and it’s only going to go up from here. How crazy is that!! If you back the project through the link in my description, not only will you guarantee yourself a bag when it starts shipping but you’ll also be supporting my channel in the process. It's a total win!

Overall, not a lot of people have money for just a Switch bag or just a tablet bag. The CommuterPak simplifies having to buy separate things for each gadget. If you’re looking for a great multi-purpose bag that will let you carry your Switch and a bunch of other things inside of it - you’ve found the perfect one. It's small, lightweight and comfortable to wear, plus you get a lifetime warranty in the event anything goes wrong. You definitely cannot go wrong with that.

Bayonetta 1 and 2 Review (Nintendo Switch)

Hey guys! It’s Ray back here and welcome to another blog post! Thanks to Nintendo, today I have an awesome opportunity to share with you guys both Bayonetta 1 and 2 for the Switch! How exciting is this!?

Bayonetta Nintendo Switch 7.jpg
Bayonetta Nintendo Switch 6.jpg

Now if you’ve never played any of the Bayonetta games before. Boy are you in for a treat. These games are action-packed from start to finish…I’m not even joking from the second you launch the games you’ll see what I am talking about. One of the best things about the Switch version of the games is that if you’re trying to decide between getting Bayonetta 1 or Bayonetta 2, both games come together for $60 so effectively you’re getting Bayonetta 1 for $10 since 2 is $50 or each for $30 - no matter how you look at it, it’s a solid deal. Especially when you consider you’re basically getting double the Bayonetta sassiness - can’t go wrong with that!

Bayonetta Nintendo Switch 4.jpg

If you’re only are going to only play one of the two though, hands down Bayonetta 2 is a much better experience of the two. The first does have it’s tech issues with camera movement and stuff like that but with the second all of those issues have been ironed out. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, the gameplay is much smoother and it also has a much easier learning curve. I’m not taking anything away from the first, I’m just stating the obvious that the second is easily better then the first so we’ll talk about that one for a bit.

Bayonetta Nintendo Switch 8.jpg

So obviously in these games you take control of the main character, Bayonetta, who is a strong and empowered shape shifting witch. In the cut scenes she is hella sassy and on the battlefield she is a force to be reckoned with. If you’ve ever played Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden games, the combat style in both Bayonetta games are very similar. The battles are fast and furious with combos flying everywhere and added mechanics like Witch Time and Torture Attacks make for some really intense and fluid action. The combat system is truly amazing.

However, the action doesn’t just stop at the battles. It very translates over to the moments in between when you’re adventuring through the story mode. It’s not uncommon to have a city start crumbling leading up to a battle or a gigantic wave form to try to sweep you away. To speed things up and avoid these obstacles quickest, you can also transform into a panther to get around faster…Black Panther anyone? There’s no denying the fact that Bayonetta is a weird series full of ridiculous creatures and moments that will surely make you go what the f****.

Bayonetta Nintendo Switch 2.jpg

One second you’re fighting half man, half horse Accolades, the next the mighty Gomorrah, the next the gigantic Glamor. The battles are not easy either. I can confidently say that I died a few times at the ends of the Gomorrah and Glamor the first time I faced them. There is never a dull moment in this game because once you think you’ve just got done with a battle, another one is only a few steps away.

That's what I love the most about Bayonetta games. They are literally cinematic masterpieces that feel like playable movies. They are more than just games, they are experiences.

Bayonetta Nintendo Switch 5.jpg

Overall, if you’ve ever played the original Bayonetta’s obviously, you’re going to love them here on the Switch. In fact, these games feel right at home on the Switch. Having the ability to play anytime, anywhere is really great and whether you play handheld or docked…the games simply look stunning. If you’ve never played any of the previous Bayonetta games, the Switch versions are the perfect place to start. I may even go as far to say that these are must-have titles for the Switch.

Bayonetta 1 and 2 for Nintendo Switch: 9.5 out of 10

Thank you, Nintendo for making this all possible and introducing me to these incredible games!
